Join AEPhi and Sharsheret in our first-ever National Pink Shabbat – October 24, 2014

This year AEPhi’s Founders’ Day, October 24, is extra special as it falls on a Friday, the beginning of Shabbat. Alpha Epsilon Phi is partnering with Sharsheret, one of our national philanthropies, to celebrate our 105th birthday. As October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is our hope that you and all sisters, from Atlantic to Pacific, take time to celebrate this night and host an AEPhi/Sharsheret Pink Shabbat event. Whether you are a collegian or alumna, you can have a meaningful Founders’ Day/Pink Shabbat by hosting an event in many ways: honoring Shabbat as a chapter/colony, hosting something special at Hillel or Chabad, holding a special family Shabbat dinner, engaging local synagogue members, creating a program at a Jewish preschool. Be creative and educate your community about Sharsheret and AEPhi!

There are several easy steps you can take to make your Pink Shabbat special – light pink/green candles, bake a pink challah (here’s a recipe), use pink paper goods, have special pink foods/beverages.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact us. Also, check out this link for more details on how to host the event and to order additional Sharsheret educational materials.  We look forward to seeing how you, along with your sisters, celebrate Alpha Epsilon Phi’s 105th birthday. Make sure to take pictures and post them on Twitter and Instagram #PinkShabbat102414.
