Volunteer Opportunities

As a lifetime member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority, many of our members enjoy being involved as a volunteer.  Volunteers mentor our collegiate members and provide guidance to help insure the same quality undergraduate experience they had when they were collegians. Our sorority is a dynamic, volunteer-driven organization, which depends on its volunteer leaders to guide the development and direction of our undergraduate chapters. There are several volunteer opportunities available.

If you would like to volunteer, please complete our AEPhi Volunteer Interest Survey

You can also support AEPhi without making a time commitment; become an Alpha Epsilon Phi Foundation donor!  Unrestricted gifts to Foundation, help support the educational and leadership development efforts of the sorority and provide scholarships to both graduate and undergraduate sisters.  Click here to make a gift.

For more information about volunteering for AEPhi, contact the Vice President-Alumnae Shannon Cohen.

Chapter Advisors

Our advisors assist our undergraduate chapters in all areas and take a personal interest in the chapter’s success.  An advisor typically serves more than one year becoming an important source of continuity, maturity, and stability, which are all welcome and useful additions to a chapter's operations. If you don’t have time to commit to being a chapter advisor but have a chapter in your area you can always offer to help with a single event, offer to host something in your home or simply be a connection to the local Jewish community or community in general.

Chapter Support Team Members

Our chapter support teams focus on supporting our chapters and chapter advisors in the areas of operations, membership, finance and programming.  Volunteers receive specialized training in their area and are supported by a team captain and a National Council liaison.

Committees

These are ad-hoc groups that meet on a limited basis to focus on a key program or area.  Opportunities exist year-round, and could be in the areas of alumnae programming, awards, nominating, by-laws, chapter operations, etc.  Committee membership is a great way to become involved without having to make a long-term commitment.  See Volunteer Interest Survey for more details

Directors

Directors work either independently or direct a committee in several operational areas.  Some directors have collegiate interaction while others may work solely with alumnae or with both constituencies.  These women may be liaisons to partner organizations such as our national philanthropies, may chair our awards committee or may oversee programming efforts.  A list of director opportunities is included on the Volunteer Interest Survey.

Alumnae Panhellenic Representative

Alpha Epsilon Phi is always looking to increase our presence in local alumnae Panhellenics.  Many cities have an alumnae Panhellenic group that meets regularly and, where applicable, help support the local college Panhellenics.  Many of these groups provide information about recruitment and sorority life to local high school women and several also provide scholarships to local sorority women.

    House Corporation Board Member

The House Corporation Board provides a gracious and secure facility for chapter members by implementing house policies and rules regarding the maintenance, use and harmony of the chapter facility and has the responsibility for managing the day to day operations of the facility.  The board is also responsible for keeping all financial records, collecting rental payments from the chapter, making disbursements for repairs and maintenance of the facility, and personnel issues.
